Autumn is my favourite time of year for my wardrobe. I love the colour palette and the layers, plus it’s not so cold that you feel like you have to leave your house in a duvet to have a chance of feeling warm. Here are 4 of my favourite go to autumnal outfits to get me through to winter.
- Making my summer wardrobe work harder – I found myself reaching for this Primark smock dress at least once a week in summer and I am not ready to put it away yet. I paired it with some black knee high boots from New Look that keep my legs nice and toasty (especially if you wear knee high socks underneath) and to bring in the autumnal colour palette I added in my extra thick, mustard coat from Zara. It has fake fur lining that feels like a warm hug and has a massive hood for protection from the inevitable showers – the joys of living in the UK!
- Brightening up the day – This bright red shade seems to be everywhere this year and I can see why. This top from H&M is incredibly flattering with a peplum hem and the detailed floral pattern is beautiful. I paired it with some plain black jeans from Tesco F&F and to dress it up a bit I threw on some open toe heeled boots from New Look. Seeing as it is getting chilly I also brought out my faux suede khaki jacket (also from New Look) which goes perfectly with the bright red top.
- Stylish simplicity – You’re already late for the day and you’ve got coffee dates, christmas shopping and pumpkin picking all ahead of you – what do you do? I reach for this outfit. The simple long sleeve t-shirt is from Primark and is so soft and cosy. My corduroy skirt is from Matalan and is the perfect burgundy shade. It is also a perfect length that I don’t feel like I have to wear tights with but on chillier mornings I can add a pair to. My boots are from New Look and I think simple black ankle boots are just a staple for autumn.
- Patterned trousers and cosy jumpers – I love jumpers as much as the next blogger but I also get ridiculously hot at all times so this jumper (that I got on holiday) is perfect. It has an open back that keeps me nice and cool when I needed but it also cosy and comfortable. To add some more detail to this outfit I paired the jumper with these tailored patterned trousers from H&M. They are a gorgeous navy colour with grey details that match perfectly with my jumper. For comfortably I wore some Puma trainers but this outfit could be dressed up with boots or brogues.
